Part Of Speech
It is just a name given to words based on the job it does in a sentence.
1. Noun - Person, place, animal, thing, feeling. idea
For Example- Aryan went to kasol on vacation with her friends this year.
2. Verb - Action/State ( Sentence without verb doesn't exist in English)
For Example - Ravi Plays tennis three times a week. (action)
I am a teacher. (state/situation)
3. Pronoun - Words that replaces a noun.
For Example- Yash is at the park with Yash's girlfriend.
Yash didn't really enjoy spending time with Yash's girlfriend. ( Both sentences
sound stupid)
Yash is at the park with his girlfriend.
He didn't really enjoy spending time with her. ( He- Subject, her- object)
Subject Pronouns - I, you,we,they,he,she,it
Object Pronoun - me,you.us,them.him, her, his
4. Adjective - Information about noun/pronoun
For example - They drive an amazing TVS sports bike.
( "an" 👉 is an article called adjective because they give
information about the nouns that come after them)
5. Adverb - Information about the verb, adjective, or adverb.
For Example- Yesterday evening we walked somewhat slowly in a very beautiful garden.
yesterday evening - walked (verb)
slowly - walked ( verb)
somewhat - slowly ( adverb)
very - beautiful ( adjective)
6. Preposition - in, on, at, by, from, with, before, after, etc.
For Example- I'll see you in the court on Monday.
7. Conjunction- and, or, between, so, but, because, etc.
For Example- Yash and Lakshya are best friends.
I didn't go to the office today because I don't feel very well.

7. Interjection - Words that have no real meaning but they help us to show sudden emotion or
exclamation. Wow! , Oops!, Hey!, etc.
For Example - Ahh! that feels wonderful.
